In the wake of Pope Francis's visit to Auschwitz, a powerful and thought-provoking book examines the horrors of the Holocaust and the ongoing struggle against antisemitism and hatred.

Letter to the Pope on His Visit to Auschwitz by Rabbi Abraham Skorka and journalist Ariel Gefen is a deeply personal and moving account of the visit, which took place in July 2016. Skorka, a Holocaust survivor, and Gefen, a descendant of Holocaust survivors, offer a unique perspective on the significance of the Pope's visit and the lessons that can be learned from the darkest chapter in human history.

The book is divided into two parts. The first part, written by Skorka, is a reflection on the Holocaust and its aftermath. Skorka shares his own experiences as a survivor, and he speaks about the importance of remembering the victims and fighting against all forms of hatred and intolerance.

The second part of the book, written by Gefen, is a more personal account of the Pope's visit to Auschwitz. Gefen describes the Pope's interactions with survivors and his powerful speech at the camp. He also reflects on the broader implications of the visit, and he calls for a renewed commitment to peace and understanding.

Letter to the Pope on His Visit to Auschwitz is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the Holocaust and its continuing legacy. It is a powerful and moving book that will challenge your assumptions and inspire you to action.
